The gift of Living Authentically

“If you call forth that which is in you, it will save you.  If you do not call forth what is in you, it will destroy you. ”  – Gospel of St. Thomas

What does it mean to live authentically? I believe that it means that our inner world (feelings, values, spirituality, truths) are in alignment with our outer world (community, career, relationships). When these two areas of our lives are congruent, we experience an inner peace and wisdom that brings us deep fulfillment and joy in our lives. We are each born with our own inner compass… but when we choose not to follow our true direction and path in life, we find ourselves lost… sometimes lost in our own lives. In living with true alignment, our purpose here on this life journey will become crystal clear, and we will enjoy life the way we were intended to.

Love Me Knots

LOVE ME KNOT:
“A union of spirits, an offering of love, a bond of infinite value and enduring ties,  lifting two souls to the sacred meeting place between heaven and earth” – Carrie Flintom, Pam Rundquist

A knot is a compact interlacing which ties and bonds two strands of materials together.  A knot can weave two single threads together into something so strong that nothing can ever break its strength.  To tie a simple knot is an uncomplicated process to learn, yet it is crucial in holding together even the most priceless and extraordinary things.  There are countless types of knots, but they are always used to tie or hold something together in a unifying bond.

Now take that idea of a knot and all it’s purpose, and turn it into a  Love Knot.”  A Love Knot is an act of love and caring directed at another human being. By freely giving Love Knots to another person, we literally fold our spiritual arms around them through our words and deeds.  With every small knot we tie, we strengthen the bonds of kinship. The more knots we tie, the stronger the connection.  The process is eternally ongoing.

As you go through your day, think of giving “Love knots” to tie together the bonds of those around you. The opportunties to tie “love knots” are everywhere! Trust that with each knot you tie, you are strengthening the connection to another person as well as yourself.

Bikinis and Bifocals

Bikinis and Bifocals

The 60’s are the new 50’s. The 40’s are the new 30’s.  We as women are living life with a different mindset, motivation, and purpose. We’ve redefined what it means to be a women at any age, and we’ve embaced the experience and wisdom that aging brings.  True beauty, is found within. And it shows on the faces of women who have embraced who they are, what they’ve been through, and where they’re going.

We need to stick together and support one another as women. One of my favorite online women’s support group is called, Bikinis and Bifocals.  (Bikinis is for the attitude, and Bifocals is for the reality).  This wonderful group of women share information, support one another, have a lot of fun, and embrace who they are at this time in their lives.  I highly encourage you to check out their site and become a member like I am (it’s free!), and learn more about their mission.  Bikinis and Bifocals… it’s an attitude and a lifestyle!  Spread the word!

The Art of Affirmations

To affirm means to make firm in one’s mind.  It helps draw into your life what you affirm. Neuroscientists reveal that 70%  of our self talk is both negative and redundant – so consequently it’s important for us to pay attention to what we are saying to ourselves! We need to replace the old dysfunctional beliefs with positive empowering beliefs.  Using affirmations daily will help re-program our thought patterns and change the way we think and feel about things.  They also help ground our purpose.  Saying them with emotion, or as if they have already happened creates more power behind that belief.

Examples of Affirmations:

“I now set new and higher standards for myself and I step up to every challenge in a state of absolute certainty and unstoppable confidence.”

“I am now confident, assertive, and decisive in every decision.”

“All I need is within me now.”

“I live a life of design rather than a life of reaction.”

“There is always abundance in every area of my life.”

“I am improving in mind, body, and soul every day.”

“Wealth, and all good things are now overflowing in my life.”

Try using affirmations on a daily basis, and watch the magic begin to happen.

Life Purpose

We all come to a point in our lives when we realize that we were put on this earth for a purpose, with a specific gift, to make a difference in this world. Most people spend their adult lives wandering through their days without aligning themselves with that purpose. This is the journey and path to finding true happiness and fulfillment in our lives. Once we begin to live in harmony with ourselves and in sharing our God given gifts, we begin to see life in a completely different perspective. What are your gifts? If you have not yet gone down that path of exploration, it is time!
